Comments: To be honest, I really didn't want to see this flick when a bunch of female friends dragged me with them during a NYC get-together . . . but I left the theater a true believer! This movie rocks! Seriously, unless you only like movies where things blow up and the lead actors eloquently burp "ugh" and "damn, yo!" throughout, this is a must-see for those seeking a warm, overcoming all odds type of story. The acting from the all British cast (it's an all British movie after all) is top-notch, and the music and choreography give this "Flashdance" reminiscent film a unique style and sensibility. The DVD offers a good smattering of extras, and the video and audio are decent to boot. Don't pass this one up, especially not as a rental. An awesome weekday family movie!

Comments: DVD is bare bones, but the movie is a quaint little tale perfect for family viewing. Ray Liotta and Whoopi Goldberg were great in this cute, tug-at-the-heartstrings picture.
